Fresh Air Fund

Summer Camp Unleashes Urban Kids’ College Potential

The Fresh Air Fund’s College Connections Program helps inner-city teens navigate the complex world of college applications and financial aid. High school students enrolled in academic and leadership development programs are provided with the resources, support and tools needed to enter and complete college. Weekly meetings with mentors are designed to help participants get into college, manage stress, find funding, adapt to college life and ultimately graduate. The College Connections Program also helps city families to better understand the college process. We are proud to support The Fresh Air Fund’s work in teaching children to “shoot for the moon.”

The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer experiences to more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Each year, close to 9,000 boys and girls visit the homes of volunteer host families in 13 states and Canada, enjoy Fresh Air camps in upstate New York or participate in year-round educational programs at camp and in New York City.
