Echoing Green
Global Entrepreneurs with a Social Conscience
Founded in 1987 by General Atlantic and named after the 1789 poem by William Blake, Echoing Green identifies tomorrow’s transformational leaders and invests deeply in their future success. By working throughout the world with start-up funding, customized technical skills training and personal support services, Echoing Green helps accelerate the impact of these emerging leaders.
JLGreene has been supporting twenty-five, two-year fellows over a six-year period. Greene Fellows hail from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, Liberia, Nepal, Pakistan, India, and Haiti. Their work has lasting impact on their home communities, as well as for other communities all over the world. Greene Fellows are developing technology to help people with disabilities stay connected. They are helping to encourage citizens of developing countries become empowered, whether it’s to prevent infant death and the spread of disease, or to demand government accountability. Fellows are committed to advancing affordable health technologies. They find and disseminate access to e-books, online math programs, better training for teachers – all to help revitalize impoverished communities. JLGreene funding has nearly doubled the amount of fellow support at Echoing Green.
