Central Park Conservancy
Renovating All of New York City’s Parks
The Central Park Conservancy Institute for Urban Parks develops programs that advance the care of urban parks and green spaces by teaching best management practice to other urban parks. With support from the Foundation, the Institute launched the Five Borough Crew Program to respond to a specific need in the NYC park community – technical assistance for heavily used parks. The program brings the horticultural excellence of New York’s famed Central Park to neglected parks in other areas of the city. As this specialized training helps local staff to develop the self sustaining systems needed to keep their parks blossoming year round, the program will expand its restoration and teaching work to other neglected public spaces.
