Renovating All of New York City’s Parks
The Central Park Conservancy Institute for Urban Parks develops programs that advance the care of urban parks and green spaces by teaching best management practices to other urban park systems. With support from the Foundation, the Institute launched the Five Borough Crew Program to address a specific need in the NYC park community: technical assistance for heavily used parks. The program brings the horticultural excellence of New York’s famed Central Park to under-resourced parks in other areas of the city. As this specialized training helps local staff develop the self-sustaining systems needed to keep their parks thriving year-round, the program will continue expanding its restoration and education work to additional public spaces.
